Solar Eclipse 2012
Roger, Richard, and Bill's trip Diary to Sunrise highway in the Laguna NF May 20, 2012

05/20/12 Richard Strobel invited me to join him with his 8" telescope and solar filter to view the Solar eclipse today. I met him about 60 miles east of San Diego in the mountains. The specific spot was on Sunrise highway near Pine Valley in Laguna National Forest. It was a beautiful clear sunny day. I arrived around 5:15 pm and already the landing had 50 - 75 people many with telescopes and most having cameras. The crowd was in a wonderful mood, everyone enjoying the beautiful location, good weather, and enjoyable socializing about astronomy, equipment, and science. I had a wonderful 3 hours of my life.
