Shedd Aquarium Diary 2005

Diary of Linda, Mike, Charlene, and my trip to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, October 2005

10/17/05 Departed Deforest at 10:30 a.m. and drove about 80 miles to my sister Charlene’s house in Belvidere Illinois. We set up our trailer in Charlene’s driveway. Linda, Charlene, Meghan, and I went to the Belvidere City Park where Meghan got a nice walk and run chasing squirrels and Canada geese. Charlene made some good chili and dinner rolls for dinner.

10/18/05 Mike drove Linda, Charlene, and me to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. We spent about 5 hours viewing the aquarium on a beautiful autumn day. The setting of this aquarium on Lake Michigan adjacent to the Field Museum and the Planetarium is awesome. This is by far the largest and best aquarium I have ever seen. On the return trip home we stopped at Maggiano's Italian restaurant for dinner. It was excellent with huge portions equivalent to three meals. Got home at dark and immediately took Meghan into Charlene’s back yard where we all played with her for an hour under the beautiful harvest moon. Played an hour of dominoes before retiring to the trailer.
