We decided to take the shuttle from the ship to down down to the Empress Hotel for High Tea.
We had to walk in the rain about 4 blocks from the shuttle drop off point to the hotel. Conrad and Kathy wimped out as the one hour
wait for a reservation was too long for them. The gardens are famous for their beautiful roses.
The rain stopped so we raced out for a short walk around the hotel grounds.
Linda getting some use out of her gortex rain coat.
Some beautiful red dahlia's still in bloom.
Entrance to the Empress Tea Room.
Very impressive ivy growing on the side of this old hotel.
The hotels trade mark of dragon Topiaries.
It must take a full time gardener to keep these shrubs looking like dragons.
Beautiful colors and textures in their choice of fauna.
The purpose of coming to this hotel. Linda likes the high tea as the tea, tea cakes, and the delicious scones with clotted cream are to die for. Yum Yum
The sandwich's and scones are all gone and we just have the good deserts left now. The lemon tarts and the marzipan are especially delectable.
I love coming her for the sandwiches and tea cakes, but the price is steep at $65 each. Yikes.
