Quartzsite 2012
Roger and Linda's trip Diary to Quartzsite, Arizona, January 26- 30, 2012

01/26/12 Linda and I had breakfast at the Dunkin Donut shop in the Casino and were on the road at 8:00am. We drove to Parker Arizona and checked into the Arizona Buckskin State Park. It was a picturesque park right on the Colorado River with power, water, and dump station which was remote from the site. I got the 5th wheel all set up and mixed up a pot roast all in one dish for dinner. Joanne and Dave arrived a bit late in afternoon setting up their giant tent behind our trailer. While they were doing this we went to visit our friends who were camping in the Island SP about 3 miles away. We had a nice cocktail two hour time with Scarlet & Joe Willingham, Stan & Joy Rey Gienger, Sam & Beverly Sharp, Mike & his wife. Returned to our trailer and had our pot roast dinner.

01/27/12 Got up at 7:30am and had a light breakfast. We all including Meghan the Irish terrier drove about 45 miles to Quartzsite Arizona to attend the RV products show in the big tent. My sister Joanne loved the shopping and all the great bargains. We had a wonderful lunch at a barbecue stand. The fresh curly french fries, coleslaw, and the pulled pork sandwiches were to died for. After about 4 hours we returned to the camp ground. Joanne made spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. Joanne and I did a starlight walk in the dark around the campground after dinner. We then watched satellite TV until bed time.

01/28/12 Had a leisurely breakfast and gave Meghan a short walk around the camp ground. At 10:30am we drove about an hour north to Havasu City where we met Joannes work friend and her husband both from Wisconsin. They were spending the winter here in a condo. We walked over and back on the London bridge to a Brew Pub, where we had an excellent lunch enjoyed by all. I had a salad with grilled salmon that was really good and fresh. Joanne cooked hamburgers for dinner.

01/29/12 We again drove to Quartzsite today for more shopping in the areas we had not frequented the previous trip. Ate at the same restaurant for lunch. I wanted to rent a 3 wheel electric bicycle for David but he said no. I was concerned with all the walking David was doing on his bad hip. Returned after about 4 hours of hard core shopping. We had left overs for dinner.

01/30/12 I got up early and cooked sour dough pancakes and bacon for breakfast. The homemade sourdough pancakes with real maple syrup were to die for. yum yum. We left about 10:00am and arrived home around 4:00pm. It was great seeing my sisters again and a very fun trip.
