Mingei Museum

Diary of Linda, Bert, Dee, George, and Roger's trip to this Balboa Park Museum, January 2008

1/9/08 Linda, George Humphrey (Linda's bridge partner), Dee Humphrey, Bert Waxler, and I went to the Prado Restaurant in Balboa Park for lunch. The ambiance is wonderful at this fine restaurant, especially outside on the patio where we ate The weather was sunny and perfect for dining outdoors. After a tasty and fun lunch we followed Bert across the street to the Mingei International Museum. The traveling exhibition called “Craft in America was being featured. Bert is a volunteer docent at this museum and gave us an excellent personal tour of the exhibition. It was an outstanding exhibition of upscale furniture, wood bowls, pottery, glass work, quilts, and baskets. I being an avid wood worker enjoyed that part the most, but the other crafts were also amazing and I took lots of existing light photos with my new 40d DSLR camera.
